The Herringbone Quilt Is A Great Pattern

This is a great video demostration of how to make a herringbone quilt from beginning to end.

It starts with selecting and cutting our fabric to the shapes we need to make the herringbone pattern.

After pieces are cut from the different fabrics we’ll sew them together and press the seams open.

These completed quilt blocks are than sewn together to make the herringbone pattern and again the seams joining the quilt blocks are sewn on a 1/4 inch seam.

After the quilt top is completed, the remaining steps to make the quilt include making a 3 layer quilt sandwich. Backing, batting, and our top.

Simple quilting is demonstrated as is adding the final touch, the binding.

On the next page below, it takes you to the video demonstrating each step and basic process to make his easy quilt.

I am finishing one up this week. As careful as i was with the bias…my border went on too full. Quilting it caused some puckers. My long arm lady said I should have basted my border first , before sewing it.
