Try Something Unique Like The Rolling Stone Block!

First, you are going to cut your fabrics into strips. Listen to Mary’s tips on strip sets, it can save us some valuable time!

Now that you have your strip sets, cut the units into 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 squares. Set those units aside.

The next unit you will be making is the square in a square unit. Take one of your fabric B 2 1/2″ squares and place it right sides together on a corner of your fabric A 4 1/2″ squares. Pay close attention to how Mary suggests sewing on the diagonal. Once your diagonal is sewn, use your scissors to remove leftover fabric. Repeat on the other corners of your Fabric A square.

Now its time to lay out your rows. Pay attention to the way Mary lays everything out. This is important because it forms the correct final block. We suggest sewing the horizontal rows together first, that way it’s easier to see what our finished product will look like. Once the horizontal rows are sewn together, then you an sew each row together.

Voila! We have a rockin’ rolling stone block!
