The Pony Express Quilt

Today we get yet another great tutorial from Jenny at The Missouri Star Quilt Company.

Now, something that I love about their work is that they always come up with fun projects that look very clean cut and are put together fantastically.

So today we are being introduced to the Pony Express Quilt. Something that I really enjoy about this quilt is that we use techniques and blocks that are pretty familiar to most quilters with some experience. It is a fun way of putting those familiar things together.

Now, beginners are welcomed. So, if we don’t have that sense of familiarity that is okay! I think we should still be able to do this one. We are going to be making this quilt out of half-square triangles and the ever-so-famous flying geese pattern. We would not really see this when it is all put together, but that is what we use!

The final quilt, if we do everything as show in the video, will be eighty-three inches by eighty-three inches.

I believe there is a star block for each state. When I first started quilting, I found them all just by googling it. A library might also be a good place to find them.
