Sewing Buttons With Our Sewing Machines

The machine you’re using will need to be in the zig zag stitch, because we will be stitching across, in both right and left direction, many times. The stitch length will need to be at zero and if your machine does not have a setting for that, than you should try changing your feed dogs.

Debbie has some really great tips on how to do this plus much more! She then continues to put her buttons into place and starts sewing and setting her machine. Setting the stitch width will be the trickiest part of this but she really walks you through it and gives great tips.

Before you know it you will be a pro and you won’t have to worry about your buttons being loose or falling off. Check out the video because this is a fantastic skill to have, Debbie does a good job, and it will make things so much simpler!

Only way I sew on my buttons. I do it twice on each button. They do not come off.
