Although it’s been done many times, learning to sew a basic block quilt will help us build the foundation of our quilting skills. The basic principal to become a great quilter starts with forming good techniques from the start.
When we begin learning the basics correctly, over time and with repetition, they become second nature.
This basic block quilt tutorial starts with getting organized. Beginners grab a note pad to write down the list of things you need to get started. One of those key skills is learning how to sew the perfect ¼ inch seam.
We can use this video tutorial created by Professor Pincushion to help us form good quilting habits from the start. You can also use this as tune up to your own organizational habits. Share this guide with friends and family to help them get started the right way!

You do have a lot of seams to match up on this! Great practice quilt! The secret is making sure your seams are an exact 1/4 inch.
