Puffy Quilt Bubbles? Fun & Forgiving! It’s Perfect for Beginners & Baby’s 2 Videos

SCROLL DOWN AND SEE THE WORDS “Next Page” Highlighted in Larger Green Text to See Jenny Doan Make this quilt.

It’s Puffy, Very Soft, and Pleasantly Warm! Sounds Like Heaven.

The bubble quilt, or biscuit quilt, is a great quilt for a baby because it uses the soft fabric known as minky fabric.

If you’re making it for a newBorn! Make SURE Wash it and Tumble Dry it a couple of Times it to get the lint out.

2 VIDEOS

1. The Cuddly Pillow Quilt. [Made with Minky Fabric] Lot’s Of Lint.

2. DIY Puff Quilt [Regular Cotton Fabric]

This quilt differs from other quilts because instead of being flat, each of the squares are puffy, like a bubble!

It’s also unique because it is a quilt-as-you-go, which we know many of us appreciate the convenience of not sending it out to be quilted!

I ordered the charms and attempted to make this…..minky fabric sheds like crazy, keep a can of air by your sewing machine to blow out the fuzz

Put your pieces in a cold dryer for about 5 minutes then hey presto no more fluff! Remember to clean out the lint filter before and after

A very good friend made one of these for each of my children’s first babies. They are beautiful, They are soft, great for looks or baby on the floor. But I do know she told me later, it took 50 hours… not sure if that qualifies as easy? We all love her and her quilts.

Just saying, from experience, that these quilts are super warm, super puffy, some can be even a little heavy, depending on the batting. I would not put this over a baby or toddler or even in a crib. I feel it is not safe. As a matter of fact, my own grandchildren have NO blankets in their cribs, till they are OLD. These are beautiful for a full size bed, for an older toddler or child .

I’ve done the rag quilt (which Abby LOVES), Emily’s puff quilt I would call easy as far as s$#%&!@*ches uneven at points….but the puff quilt I decided to start with is 6″ on the top piece, 5″ on the bottom…stuff and sew. It’s NOT easy to sew a puffy part to a solid part for the next strip. But then again….If I’m doing puff, it’s going to be snowball puff 🙂
