Making A House Block With 5 Inch Squares

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDUhZWyi7LA

When we’re creating a unique and personalized quilt, why not try a house block? Using only 5 inch squares, we can create a unique and beautiful house block.

This is from the Gormet Quilter. Start with selecting the fabric we want to use as a roof and cut the 5 inch squares in half. Decide on the back ground sky color. That color will become common as the sky and it should be lighter than what we selected for our roofs. Or contrasting with the roof.

This method creates houses with no waste, but the roof peak is flattened when you stitch the blocks together. This is very fast. Wonder if there’s a way create a tiled roof?
