Get The Most From Our Quilting Scraps

Larger scrap pieces can be cut into strips and then into squares. By using strips we can double or triple stack the same sized strips to cut multiple squares at the same time. Smaller piece take some extra work because you’ll have to measure using a ruler to see if the piece is large enough to cut the size of square you need. If you have a ruler designed to cut squares it goes a lot faster.

Or if we’re trying to cut specific size and shapes make yourself a little template out of anything from stiff paper to thin stiff piece of plastic. Use the plastic lid of any container and cut it to the size you need. This will assist with cutting greatly and it never hurts to have a little help!

That piece you were throwing away would make a good size half square triangle.
