Start with 1 large square and 4 smaller squares to make 4 flying geese units.
The previous page points lays out how to determine the size of the squares you’ll need to make your flying geese units.
Cut the large square diagonally both ways to make 4 equal sized triangles.
Cut each smaller square diagonally corner to corner in half to make 2 triangles for each smaller square.
We suggest folding the squares in half and finger press a crease on the center bias cut edge of each square.
You’ll use this crease to line up the triangles as you chain piece them together.
After they are sewn together press to set the seam and press the seams to one side as seen in the video.
Trim as directed for 4, perfect 3 by 1 1/2 inch flying geese units.

I have tried a few different ways of making flying geese and they never come out the right size no matter which method I use.
