Amanda Rolfe from Craft Sewing Lifestyle makes a very fun Chevron Block in blue and white dotted fabric.
There are so many different colors that would look great with this pattern!
A simple block made with 5 inch squares or you could use a layer cake. Pay attention to the details and perform the step by step instructions.
Don’t forget to take your time to press your seams as you go.
Make your 4 easy half squares triangles and lay them out in a chevron pattern. Quick and easy to sew!

Apr 17. 2016
My biggest dilemma is when I cut and sew two to make s triangle of course it never comes out the same size as the square….
So at high it never says it in my directions should I just use the cut and sewn size as the finished size of the square?
Is this just common sense or am I missing something?
Susan Jacques
Apr 18. 2016
When I start out with say a 4″ square and cut in half
Then sew triangles to make a square of course it is now less than 4″
It then does not butt up to a solid 4″ square
That’s what I’m trying to figure out
So I make those squares I’m going to cut larger?
Or do I make the solid pieces smaller ?
I never see two different sizes in patterns

Omgosh….are you saying you measure for each piece and you then cut with scissors? If you have not already purchased a cutting mat, sewing ruler and rotary cutter, you would improve your final results if you could do that. I know those items are not cheap but so worth it!!!!

Joanne Schoenfeld, guess I can’t b your quilting buddy but it sure would be fun. I live in Fort Worth Texas I think you can find a small quilting clubs to join around you. I joined a Linus Q club here and we have a good time. All levels belong, long time quilters and us beginners too. We make simple little quilts 4 children in hospital, and some needy areas. Just once a month then we work on their projects in between
