This isn’t the best video quality. But Chris Sass the owner of quiltfabric.com does a great job of pointing out how to use a rotary cutter and ruler so we decided to leave it in.
The placement of her pinky finger is a habit you may want to try and acquire. That small anchor lets you know when the ruler is slipping even slightly.
Your sense of touch is a better measure of the pressure you’re applying to the side of your ruler. You’ll know if the ruler is moving even slightly & you’ll know when you’re pushing on it with the rotary cutter as you’re cutting the fabric.
This little finger sensor makes your cuts a lot more accurate, and helps reduce your ruler from slipping.
Just the Basics is always a good place to start on the Next Page Video Tutorial
The blade falling off your cutting surface happens WAY more than cutting the hand. ALWAYS close your blades before setting then down! Much more important than wearing that stupid glove

Agreed. I never wear a glove and I have been sewing for over 50 years.
