A Great Guide For Our Seam Line

Using the Scant 1/4″ seam may help your block piecing line up. These tools might be what you need to not only sew the seam in the right place, but also assists in sewing your lines perfectly straight.

How to align and arrange your machine and sewing area to take advantage of this tool are also covered.

This tool is easily removed when you’re not piecing. No sticky residue simply lift it and add in back when you’re ready to start quilt piecing again.

Making the True or Scant 1/4 seam is one of the primary skills required to insure your quilt lines up as you stitch together each piece, block, row, and column.

Pay close attention to where your sewing machine needle is in regards to your feed dogs.

**If possible move your sewing machine needle to allow all your feed dogs to fully engage with your material as its stitches an exact 1/4 inch seam.**

If the throat of your machine is not flat, this will not stay on your machine. It rocks back & forth.

I purchased a set a few years ago, not worth the money, after a few uses the tape no longer holds the guides to machine. I contacted the company about purchasing additional tape, never got a reply.

If your machine does not have a flat top, these do not stay on. They have to sit flat to stay on your sewing machine. I bought a set at a quilt show, not happy with them.

The throat of my Brothers is not flat, it has a curve to it. When you put the Ideal Seam Guide on, it rocks back & forth.
